Second Shooting and Having Wifey as Boss

Hi this is Mario, Arleth's cool and handsome husband ;)

Arleth asked me to guest blog today since she has been super busy with editing and working on the new website and what not. Really I think she's just being lazy, but don't tell her I said that! It's been a little over a year since Arleth randomly decided to start on this wedding photography venture taking me along for the ride as her sidekick, mental breakdown therapist and second shooter. And it's been awesome to say the least. I love art in every form and even before learning how to use an SLR camera I've always had a deep appreciation for it.

When I second shoot for Arleth I look for angles, climb trees jump from pillar to pillar and pray to the Most High just to take a picture that will make the couple proud, but most importantly, make Arleth proud. Cause that girl is hard to please! She says she's "selective" but I just call it picky. Even with her own photos. To a large extent I think that's what has really helped us grow though. So when she mentioned one day that I was her secret weapon I was pretty proud. I think it may have been on my birthday or Christmas or some other special occassion so I'm not sure if that counts. I haven’t been fired yet so I think I've been doing an ok job. At least I haven’t gotten the memo nor has it been calendar time for Mario yet.

One of the perks of second shooting for Arleth is meeting awesome people that not given the circumstances I would probably never get to meet. We learn about how they met and get to be a little part of their stories. With some couples we even make plans to serve in each other’s churches, plan missionary trips, have friendly political debates and even help with their architecture plans. It has been more than just freezing moment in time through pictures. We've made new friends. And the best part is that I get to do it all alongside the delight of my eyes, my one true love, my wife and my boss.

Here are few pictures I've taken of her behind the scenes… enjoy!
